1. A table fan is your new friend

Night sweats are a common occurrence during the summer, but what most people don’t realise is that the more they perspire, the more prone you are to mosquito bites. 

A fan by your bed is the perfect way to keep yourself cool during hot an humid nights, making you less of a target. 

Plus, most mosquitoes and insects are weak fliers, which means a strong gust of wind coming from a table fan is enough to keep them from getting to you. 

2. Shower before bed

There is no way to avoid the heat and humidity during Indian summers. But going to bed while still sweaty from a long day is like an open invitation for mosquitoes to bite you while you sleep. 

A shower before bed to wash off the day’s sweat is a great idea during this season, it not only makes you less of a target for pesky mosquitoes but also leaves you feeling fresh!   

3. Apply Repellent 

All you have to do as a precautionary measure after a refreshing shower is to apply a mosquito repellent, preferably one with natural ingredients so it isn’t too harsh on your skin. 

It is ideal to pick one that uses citronella, lavender, sassafras, peppermint, or soy oils as active ingredients. They are all-natural ingredients that help avoid any side effects while still being highly effective. Plus, the smell from the oils helps with a sound sleep. 

If you aren’t too big on applying lotion before sleeping, you can always go with a simple mosquito patch and enjoy a comfortable night without any bites! 

4. Cover yourself up 

Short and flowy clothes are comfortable for hot and sticky summer nights, but they also leave a lot of skin exposed for mosquitoes to bite you.

5. Keep your windows closed, especially at night

It is a good practice to keep your window shut at night to keep the insects where they are supposed to be, outside the house!
